First select a product category. Here you can choose between linear encoders, angle encoders or length gauges.
Select the accuracy of the incremental length gauge that meets your requirements. You can choose between two accuracy classes, SPECTO for ±1 µm or METRO for ±0.5 µm.
The position detection can be incremental or absolute. The incremental measuring method provides a relative position as well as direction of movement, which requires an assignment to a reference point (starting point) at the beginning of the measurement. This is done by homing the axis. The absolute measuring method provides concrete position information at any axis position. A reference run at the beginning of the measurement is not necessary.
At this point you can select the type of bolt actuation. You can choose between two variants, spring-driven or pneumatic. With spring-driven length gauges, the built-in spring extends the measuring bolt into the measuring position and builds up the measuring force. The measuring bolt is extended in the rest position. On length gauges with pneumatic bolt actuation, the bolt extends when compressed air is applied. When the compressed air connection is vented, the built-in spring retracts the measuring bolt.
